Acticoa™ for cocoa beverages

Technical specifications (ready to drink or powder mixes)

  • Stability of cocoa flavanols in drinks: using foresight and careful consideration of the predicted losses due to UHT treatment, Acticoa™ powders can ensure an end product with 200 mg of flavanols.
  • Standard to gourmet taste and color possible with correct usage of alkalized cocoa powder.
  • Cost comparable to other cardiovascular functional ingredients:
    • In many cases, the cost increase is only 1-2% on the final product.
  • High credibility of claim for this type of product.
  • 6-month shelf life with guaranteed flavanol stability.
  • As pasteurization will cause loss of flavanols,
    we recommend a short UHT process for the lowest impact:
    • UHT: between 20-30% loss of flavanols
    • Sterilization: minimum 45% loss of flavanols
